To encourage the reconciliation of various national and religious groups in Romania
through supporting the rebuilding of self-reliant churches and communities
and channelling grants to these projects
Why Romania Concern?
Despite now being part of the EEC Romania remains one of the poorest countries in Europe. In addition there is widespread tension between different ethnic and religious groups within the population. There is, therefore, an urgent need to work for justice, peace and reconciliation.
Current Projects include
- Sponsoring classrooms in the renovation of the Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Reformed High School in Oradea.
- Church Linking – linking churches in the UK with churches in Romania, allowing on-going support and prayer.
- Arranging exchanges between theological colleges and community groups and encouraging towns and villages in England to adopt a Romanian town or village.
- Helping with summer youth and children’s camps
For further information and requests for speakers please contact Andy, the Project Ambassador.

A SPECIAL PROJECT
Lorántffy Zsuzsanna Reformed High School.
The Királyhágómellék District (Nagyvárad/Oradea) of the Reformed Church in Romania had a programme to renovate the Lorántffy Zsuzsanna Reformed High School. The cost was around £417,000 and we agreed to sponsor a classrooms which cost £2,800 each. We are delighted to report that we have sent £5,000 towards this project. Ian regularly visits this project, mosdt recently in 2017, and was very impressed with the work.
The Cotteridge Church, Birmingham & Reformed Church, Timisoara
These two churches have now made a formal twinning arrangement. A small group of leaders went from Cotteridge to Timisoara in May 2005 and regular visits have taken place since.
Please email Ian if you would like further information on linking your church with a congregation in Romania.
